UNIT 5 : Working to a Brief

Notes for film presentation:

contractual brief
a brief that is fixed, not negotiable, once signed everything is done.
(example production manager)

negotiated
to reach with an agreement or compromise by discussion with others.
(example music video)

formal:
done in accordance with rules of convention or etiquette.

informal
not formal, having a relaxed, friendly and unofficial style manner.

commission
the act of granting certain powers or authority to carry out a particular task or duty.

tender
The production company might find out someone is looking for a video. They put together a brief with a proposal and a budget and send it to the potential client. The client would look at all the different tenders they receive and choose the one they prefer.

cooperative brief:
You work alongside other production companies or organisations who also have a brief therefore your brief has to co-operate with the brief they are working on as well

competition:
the activity or condition of competing for a prize or profit. for example, a rivalry between two businesses or more striving for the same market.

I took an example of a brief assignment and I analysed it to see what is essential. I highlighted and broken down the brief in a simple format to illustrate what the client wants.
