Glossary Terms

Video formats e.g - Technology of electrically capturing, recording, processing, storing, reconstructing a sequence of still images representing scences in motion.  e.g digital video clips, computer file system. 

Streaming - Data streaming, commonly seen in the forms of audio and video streaming, is when a multimedia file can be played back without being completely downloaded first. e.g can be used on Mobile Phones.

File Compression - Compression is the reduction in size of data in order to save space or transmission time. e.g file compression is usually used on audio files to distinguish a dynamic range.

 Aspect Ratios:4:3,16.9 - The aspect ratio of an image describes the proportional relationship between its width and its height. e.g Blu-ray Disc and DVD.

 Frame Rates - The number of still pictures per unit of time of video having a range from 6 - 8 frames per a second.  e.g computer graphics, video cameras, film cameras and motion capture systems.
